Freeze drying refers to the process of removing water or other solvents from frozen biological products by sublimation. Sublimation refers to the process in which a solvent, such as water, changes directly from a solid state to a gas state, like dry ice, without going through the liquid state. The product obtained by freeze-drying is called lyophilizer, and this process is called lyophilization.
Traditional drying will destroy cells and cause material shrinkage. In the process of freeze-drying, the structure of the sample will not be damaged, because solid components are supported by the solid ice on its position. When the ice sublimates, it will leave pores in the dry residual material. In this way, the biological and chemical structure of the product and the integrity of its activity are retained.
In the laboratory, freeze-drying has many different uses. It is indispensable in many biochemical and pharmaceutical applications. It is used to obtain biological materials that can be preserved for a long time, such as microbial culture, blood, enzymes, and drugs. In addition to the stability of long-term preservation, it also retains its inherent biological activity and structure. For this reason, freeze-drying is used to prepare tissue samples for structural research (such as electron microscopy), and freeze-drying is also used in chemical analysis. It can obtain dry samples or concentrate samples to increase chemical analysis sensitivity. Freeze drying makes the sample composition stable without changing the chemical composition, which is an ideal auxiliary means for analysis.

Low pressure refrigeration air dryer the amount of water vapor in the compressed air is determined by the temperature of the compressed air: under the condition that the pressure of the compressed air is basically unchanged, reducing the temperature of the compressed air can reduce the content of water vapor in the compressed air, and the excess water vapor will condense into liquid. According to the corresponding relationship between the saturated steam pressure and temperature of water, the freezing dryer uses the refrigeration device to cool the compressed air to a certain dew point temperature, release the contained water, and discharge the water through the steam water separator and electric drainer, so as to dry the compressed air.

How to select suitable compressed air drying and purification equipment?
Compressed air dryer is the basic element of compressed air system. During the installation of the compressor, water will inevitably be generated, which may cause great problems in the downstream. From the pollution of the final product to the damaged pneumatic machinery and other components, these moisture cannot be left in the compressor system. The dryer is one of the equipment to help dry the air, so as to protect your installation from the influence of moisture. But which kind of compressed air dryer is more suitable?
In essence, a dryer with accurate specifications should dry air at the rate of air generated by the compressor and meet your process requirements. There are six main items to be calculated to accurately select the correct dryer: 1. Select the purification system based on the rated air volume and pressure value of the air compressor. 2. The dryer power shall be selected based on the inlet air temperature, rated air volume, rated pressure and ambient temperature. 3. Choose which type of dryer to configure based on the dryness, that is, the dew point value. 4. According to the oil content index and dust content index, select several levels of filtration and determine the type of filter. 5. The configuration of pipelines and the selection of pipeline materials shall be determined according to the indicators of dew point, oil content and dust content. 6. In the workplace with large amount of environmental dust, air inlet filter shall be installed to protect the compressor and ensure the purification effect.
In demanding applications in pharmaceutical and food processing industries, as well as applications that require very high quality air, it may be important to keep the air at a reliable and predictable dew point. Compared with the adsorption dryer, the freezing dryer has lower operation and maintenance costs. For applications that require dry air but do not require a critical dew point, a refrigerated air dryer is a good choice.
